Migrant Workers Centre (MWC) is seeking a part-time Community Connector to support migrant workers in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland who are facing abuse, exploitation, or other serious challenges at work and in their daily lives. This one-year contract role focuses on building trusted, long-term relationships with migrant workers and their families, meeting people where they are—at worksites, community spaces, events, and through digital tools such as WhatsApp—and helping them access legal services, community supports, and essential resources. The Community Connector plays a key role in ensuring that migrant workers are not left to navigate complex systems alone.

In this role, the Community Connector provides hands-on system navigation and advocacy across areas such as employment and labour rights, immigration processes, healthcare, housing, education, mental health, family law, and situations involving violence or abuse. The position emphasizes trauma-informed, antiracist, gender-just, and sanctuary-informed approaches, with a strong focus on culturally responsive support and language access, particularly for Spanish-speaking women and families. The Connector also delivers rights-based education through workshops and one-on-one support, responds to urgent and crisis situations, and works closely with community partners to coordinate referrals and wrap-around supports.

The position is part-time at 17.5 hours per week, with an hourly wage range of $29–$32 depending on experience, and includes extended health and dental benefits, paid vacation, flexible work arrangements, and a compassionate wellness leave policy. Applicants should have experience in outreach or community engagement, a strong understanding of migrant workers’ realities, and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends. MWC is committed to working in solidarity with migrant workers and values lived experience of migration as a strong asset.
