MWC holds regular workshops for caregivers on applying for permanent residence under the Live-in Caregiver Program, the Caring for Children Pathway and the Caring for People with High Medical Needs Pathway. These workshops are held twice a month at our office and are always held on a Saturday. At the workshop, our legal advocate provides details on permanent residence eligibility requirements, highlights common mistakes and potential issues, and walks you through each application form in detail. The workshop runs from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Registration is required due to space restrictions. Please contact us at 604-669-4482 to register.
MWC also offers numerous public legal education workshops in partnership with community organizations across the province of British Columbia. Our legal advocates and staff lawyer deliver regular workshops on the following topics:
- Employment rights
- Immigration law for caregivers and other low-wage temporary foreign workers
- Labour trafficking
